Pink Marble Cake with Cocoa Swirl
Great! Here's a Pink and Chocolate Marble Cake — a lovely twist on the classic marble cake with pink vanilla and chocolate swirls
Ingredients:
- Dry Ingredients:
- 2½ cups (312g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (for the chocolate portion)
- Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk, room temperature
- Pink gel food coloring
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour 8-inch round pans.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one by one, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
Add the flour mixture in three batches, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined — do not overmix.
Divide the batter evenly into three parts:
Leave one part plain.
Mix one part with pink food coloring to get your desired shade.
Mix the third part with the cocoa powder until well combined.
Spoon the batters into the prepared pan in alternating blobs. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters to create a marbled effect.
Bake for 40–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
Optional: Dust with icing sugar or glaze with chocolate or pink icing.
