This No-Bake Cream and Chocolate Cake is an easy, indulgent dessert that combines rich chocolate layers with velvety cream. It’s perfect for when you want a show-stopping dessert without turning on the oven!
Ingredients
- For the Chocolate Layer:
- 200g (7 oz) dark chocolate (semi-sweet or bittersweet)
- ¾ cup (180ml) heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Cream Layer:
- 2 cups (480ml) heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Base:
- 200g (7 oz) digestive biscuits or graham crackers
- ½ cup (120g) unsalted butter, melted
- For Garnish (Optional):
- Chocolate shavings or curls
- Cocoa powder
- Fresh berries
Instructions
1. Prepare the Base:
Crush the biscuits or graham crackers into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-lock bag and rolling with a pin.
Mix the crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch (23cm) springform pan or a similar dish to form the base. Chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to set.
2. Make the Cream Layer:
In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Spread half of the whipped cream evenly over the chilled base. Reserve the other half for later. Chill while you prepare the chocolate layer.
3. Make the Chocolate Layer:
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate, heavy cream, and butter. Melt gently over a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Stir in the vanilla extract and let the chocolate mixture cool slightly (but not solidify).
4. Assemble the Cake:
Pour the melted chocolate over the whipped cream layer and smooth it out with a spatula.
Spread the remaining whipped cream over the chocolate layer.
5. Decorate and Chill:
Garnish the cake with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or fresh berries for an elegant finish.
Chill the cake in the fridge for at least 4-6 hours or overnight to set completely.
6. Serve:
Carefully remove the cake from the springform pan, slice, and enjoy a creamy, chocolatey slice of heaven!

For a sturdier base, press the crumbs into the pan using the bottom of a glass.
